3 Day Potty Training!

Well I'm sure most of you are reading the title going, is she nuts?! Well I'm pretty sure at some point on Saturday Rob and I both thought we were nuts. I had read the book on the 3 day potty training method, sold Rob on the idea. We made no plans over the weekend just as suggested (well kind of). So Saturday morning came and we were all up bright and early at 6:00. We put on our first pair of undies and we were pumped!! For those of you who don't know what the 3 day method is, you basically just put your almost 2 year old in undies and let them learn by peeing their pants. I know it sounds harsh, but Paige learns in extremes or cold turkey as we call it at our house. It worked for the bottle, binkie, big girl bed, so we went with it.

So to jump a head by 9:30 AM, we had already gone through 7 pairs of undies and Mom and Dad were ready to go back to diapers and so was Paige. After around 12 accidents, Saturday was finally over. Sunday morning came and we had success right away! Then started the accidents and the commitments that we had previously made. Sunday was a bad day for all of us, Paige was sick of being wet all the time and her terrible 2s were in full force.

So Monday morning came and we sent Paige to daycare in a diaper. I had asked her if she was going to tell the girls if she had to go potty and she told me NOPE! So I didn't want daycare to deal with the mess. Now I had read in the book that on day 3 it would just click. Boy were they right. I was receiving text messages right and left from Paige's girls at daycare telling me how many times she had gone on the potty! We ended the day with only 2 accidents! I couldn't believe it. So today she went to daycare in a pull up and only had 1 accident! Now I'm aware she could go backwards, or we could have our rough days, but we are so very proud of our little lady!! She is doing so great!!!

We hope everyone is having a great week!! Sorry no picture in this post, we were focused so much on the potty I didn't get a picture of her!

Sunday Funday!

Sunday was a fun day at the Hartz house. After Mom stayed out too late at dinner the night before catching up with friends, Paige didn't get to bed until 9 pm. Which usually means she'll punish Mommy and Daddy by getting up super early. Though she didn't get up too early it was still a rough morning.

After going to Costco and running some errands we finally got Paige down for her nap. She took a 3 hour nap!! This is really rare anymore at our house and Mom and Dad were both very very greatful as we got naps in as well. After nap time we realized it was 53 degrees outside so
we took Paige out to play. She had so much fun on her swing set and just running in the yard. I know she's looking foward to spring and summer! Though she kept standing in the last pile of snow we have in our back yard.

While Daddy played basketball with Miss Paige, Mom went inside to start dinner. The minute Paige came back inside she wanted to help me cook. So we put a little water in a sauce pan and gave her a whisk and let her go to town. She had so much fun, she kept telling me she was cookin' and that I needed to be cookin' (which means stiring) as well.

Rob caught some pictures of us. He's getting a lot better of picking up the camera
and taking pictures. Hope everyone is enjoying the end of February. We have a very busy March coming up with birthdays, etc. We have a milestone birthday in our house ending in 0 as well as a little girl who is turning 2!

Play Date!!

Well this Saturday a couple of my good girlfriends from high school (Graham & Malissa), and I got together with the kids to have a play date. The kids ranged in age from 5 to 10 months. It was really funny watching all of the kids interact together. Paige of course ran from playing with the babies to playing with Zane (the 5 year old). We had a fun 2 hours together and it was great for the Mommies to catch up as well. I think we'll be doing it again sometime soon! I tried to take a couple of pictures while the kids were playing. In the below pictures the little boy on the left is Graham's youngest Sean, he'll be 1 three days before Paige's birthday. The little boy with Paige on the right is Zane. He is 5 years old and my friend Malissa's oldest. Zane and Paige had so much fun, they even told each other that they loved each other. Zane asked his Mom when he was going to see Paige again and if they could go for a walk next time. I think Rob and I are in for a lot of trouble in our future!!

Great Friday!

We had a great Friday at our house!! We woke up and ran straight to the bathroom, we were successful!! Paige was so proud of herself and got to wear her sticker to daycare. Potty training is a work in progress at our house, but I think we'll be successful soon.
The pictures above is Paigey with her new electric toothbrush. She had to brush her teeth for like 10 mins.
She also got to wear her new fleece! We had quite the morning! Potty, new toothbrush, new PJs and a new fleece!!

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons have began! We just got back from our second week. Mommy got in last week and Daddy got in this week.

Paige had a blast! She thinks swimming is so much fun! Her teacher thinks she is doing a great job!! We just have to work on getting water in her ears and not afraid of water on her face. Next week Rob and I are both getting in the pool. Our teacher tonight told us that it will be good from here on out if both of us get in the pool. So we agreed that would be the best option!

Snow Day

Well Iowa got it's first decent snow storm. Everyone in my house was excited! Rob was excited as he purchased a brand new snow blower this year and hadn't got to use it. Paige because she's found a love for the snow! Well while Rob was fighting with his snow blower (Yep we got one that wasn't assembled properly from the factory), Paige played in the snow for 1 hour! Before we knew it, it was time for dinner. Enjoy the pictures of Paigey in the snow!!

Paige's Funny Face!

Well my blogging has begun! I've been getting a lot of tips from Graham who has an amazing blog about her kids. I loved my Shutterfly site, but I feel like I would be better at updating you on the funny things Paige does when they happen instead of forgetting at the end of the month. I will be doing a couple of updates either tonight or over the next couple of days. I have some stuff from February to share!

I hope you enjoy Paige's face in the picture, here is the story behind it. I was in the kitchen cooking last night and Paige walks up to me and says, "Mama, LOOK!" So I look down and this is the face she's making at me. She then proceeds to tell me that she's funny and walks away. I have no idea who taught her that, but she thinks she is hilarious!!

On a side note, my sisters and cousins will love this. We put on Paige's shirt for daycare the other morning and she told her Dad, "This is my Hawkeye shirt" Rob proceeded to tell her she never has and never will own a Hawkeye shirt. Can you tell there are kids in daycare with Iowa Hawkeye shirts??

Hope you guys enjoy the blog!!
