Sneak Peek Professional Pictures

I just got the sneak peek of our professional pictures we just had taken.  My friend Megan who has taken Paige's pictures since she was 3 months old came to our house and took pictures.  This is the last time that Megan will take pictures for our family as she is going to grad school in Chicago.  We are going to miss her so much!!  I have no words how much I have loved all the pictures Megan has taken over the years.  I always leave wondering if Paige was cooperative enough of if they will turn out.  Then I get the sneak peek and I'm always so pumped with how they turned out!!  Thanks Megan for always giving me amazing pictures of my family.  I don't know what I'm going to do for Henry's 3 month pictures!

Megan came to the hospital the day after Henry was born and took some pictures of him there.  So the first few pictures are at the hospital.  Then we had her take Henry's newborn, Paige's 3 year, and some family pictures.  I couldn't be more excited to see the rest of them soon!!

Staying Home with Two Kids...Holy Learning Experience

Well Paige goes to daycare 4 days a week, and on Fridays she's home with me.  Today was my first Friday home with both of my kids.  I had promised Paige since about Tuesday that she could get her pink pool out on Friday.  So she woke up this morning and instantly was asking about getting her pink pool out.  We were on the deck at 7:30 this morning blowing up her pool and filling it up with water.

She was in the pool swimming by 7:45 probably and stayed out there all day pretty much.

This is what Henry did.  Well that and fuss.  He had an upset stomach all day today.  I'm not really sure why.  We've only changed one thing in his routine so we're going to change back and see if that changes anything.  So wish us luck on that tonight.

After Paige took a 3 hour nap, she was back out in the pool  She was in the pool from 4-6:30 tonight.  She was practicing all of the stuff she learned in swim lessons.  She was posing for pictures for me showing off all she could do.

Today was a pretty good day.  I'm exhausted since Henry wasn't feeling that great.  Rob had a golf tournament today in the heat.  YUCK!  Hope everyone is staying cool!

Just Another Update!

Hello Family and Friends!  Well I'm officially a stay at home mom.  I'm sure most of you are not shocked but I'm bored already.  I've started planning crafts for me to do during the day.  Lucky for me my mom just sold her duplex and has to move out by the end of June.  So I will be in Newton helping her pack most of next week.  I'm so excited for her!

We had a very busy weekend in Newton everyday.  My great aunt Helen passed away.  So we had her visitation and funeral on Friday and Saturday.  My sister and her family came down and hung out at our house all day on Friday so they could meet Henry.  It was fun to have the kids together and let them all play. Sunday we spent Father's Day at Hartz's with Rob's parents, Grandpa, and Aunt Kathy & Uncle Kerry.  There was a lot of fishing done and Paige went swimming in the pond.  She had so much fun!!

Monday Henry had his 2 week well baby check up.  The doctor says he's great.  He weighed 10 lbs 5 oz and was 21 1/2 inches.  So he's gained a pound in two weeks and grew an inch and a half.  We figured this would happen since he's eating like CRAZY.  They told us that we're too easy since we had no questions and weren't worried about anything.  We tried to explain that we've done this before.

We're getting pictures taken this afternoon.  I'm really excited!  We're getting Paige's 3 year pictures and Henry's newborn pictures.  It will be fun to do them at our house and in our backyard.  I'll post a preview as soon as I get them back!  In the mean time enjoy the pictures Rob and I took.

Doctor's appointment wore him out...first time we've seen him all stretched out

My aunts came to meet Henry on Monday.  Of course my mom and aunt had to all cram on one couch so they could all stare at him.

This is most of my day

Sunday night this mom was pooped out and so was Henry.  We fell asleep on the couch...Dad thought he should take a picture.

Back out on the workout trail...I walked outside for the first time today.  This is my workout buddy.

We're Surviving!

Well we made it home last week Friday.  To say things were overwhelming when we got home would be an understatement.  My mom came home with us and had lunch and dinner ready for us.  I think Paige could be quoted saying, "Everyone is mean to me", that is how many times we had to tell her to stop doing something. But we're all adjusting and doing much better a week later.  Rob and I are adjusting to less sleep and have made a pretty good routine.  Henry is still an easy baby.  He's very mellow and laid back just like his sister was.  He's starting to eat more so we're hoping that means longer stretches of sleep.  Rob goes back to work on Tuesday and then the boredom sets in.  I don't do well at home let alone home by myself.  So I'm sure Henry and I will be doing a lot of visiting of people.  Paige is going to daycare 4 days a week to keep something normal in her life.  She's having so much fun in her new room.

Here are a bunch of pictures from Rob and I's phones.  They are in no order but we hope you enjoy!  I will get back to my normal blogging now that I've settled in.

Holy Cow...Mom of 2!!

Henry William Hartz is here!!!  I'm sitting here writing this while he's getting a bath in my room.  He is NOT happy about it :).  He's here and I couldn't ask for a better day!!  Our day started at the hospital at 5:15 AM.  After getting all checked in we went through the entire process of surgery prep, IV, labs, monitoring, etc.  I thought most of the time it went really quickly, but the last 15 mins was terrible!  I have never been so anxious in my life.  After walking down to the OR and saying good bye to Rob for a bit, I was in the OR with an entire room full of women doctors and nurses.  They were the most entertaining people I have ever been around.  Once they got me ready then Rob was back in there at my side.  We chatted through the beginning of the surgery.  The minute they said he had a full head of hair we both went YES!!  Then they continued to pull him out and the HE'S HUGE started.  Henry weighs in at a whopping 9 lbs 5.9 oz!!!  Now I was 9 lbs 3 oz but I was almost 2 weeks late.  This little man was 3 days early!!  I can't imagine if I went to a full 40 weeks.  So his stats are 9 lbs 5.9 oz and 20 inches long.  So he is basically a pound and a half bigger then Paige but 1 inch shorter.

Here are some pictures from right after he was born.

After we made it back to our room and all of the post op stuff was done, then Grandma Greta, Papa Gary, and Grandma Pat were able to come in and meet him.  I am missing a lot of pictures, but the Grandma's got quite a few.  I'll get with them later.  We called Grandma Gail and Papa Rick to let them know that everything was ok and to tell Paigey her brother was here.  She got so excited.  So they came up right away.  Paige just sat in my bed and held him.  She loves him so much and it's so cute!!  Now everyone is gone and we're just enjoying the down time.  I think I'll be going to bed early.

My recovery has been really good so far.  I feel actually really well.  I had a few minor side effects from having a spinal this time instead of an epidural.  But nothing terrible.  They do plan on trying to get me at least standing up today.  I can't believe he's here and we start moving forward with our life.  It's going to be amazing!!  He is such a relaxed baby.  He just hangs out and sleeps.  He's starting to get the hang of eating.  I'm pumping and bottle feeding again this time.  So he's had some formula today because he had to have his blood sugar checked 3 different times.  Apparently babies his size have to have it done as they can burn their sugars faster then normal babies.  He has passed all 3 of those today and they wont check him again.

Rob and I couldn't be more proud.  He looks more and more like Paigey as the day moves forward.

Thank you to everyone for all of the emails, text messages and phone calls.  I couldn't return all of them but I felt very loved the last couple days!  Thank you!!  Pictures will continue as we're in the hospital till Friday.  So I'll keep them coming.  LOVE YOU!!
