One Week!

Holy crap!!  One week from today by this time I will be a mom of 2!  I'm sitting at work right now for my last full week of work.  It's so bittersweet.  I love what I do and I'm going to miss the people I work with so much.  But I'm feeling great!  I have no signs of labor and I'm just trucking along.  Things are getting very real.  Rob and I are finishing up buying whatever we need for packing, grandparents have been talked to, and the house is getting clean.  I'm ready to start getting back to normal.  I'm ready to have some of my body back.  Paige told me yesterday that she is ready for me to be back to normal.  She told me that I get tired when I walk.  She's very right, she knows when we go to Target or the grocery store that her and Daddy are off and running and I'm doing the best I can to keep up.  All I can do is pray my c-section goes smoothly and I recover as quickly as I did last time.  Paige already has plans to cuddle and watch a movie together when I get home from the hospital.  But I'm ready, ready to move forward, ready to see this little boy, ready to start this new chapter in our life.  I gave Rob his Father's Day present early last night because I just needed to express how thankful I am for him.  I could never have made it through this without him picking up as much slack as he has.  He has basically been at Paige's beck and call because I just can't do what all she needs me to do.  When I'm tired or don't feel well he just takes care of her so I can rest.  I'm a lucky girl!  This is a picture of me from last week when I turned 38 weeks.  I'm 38 1/2 weeks today, and I go to the doctor on Thursday.  I'll keep everyone posted!  I'm sure I'll have one more baby post before he actually gets here.

On another happy note Paigey started her 3 year old room at daycare.  She is officially in preschool and I just can't believe it.  She was so excited to go this morning.  I'm so thankful to have a kid who adjusts to change easy.  This little girl has got a lot of change coming her way.  This is a picture of her from yesterday.  That is her new hat she picked out.  She was just running around the backyard yesterday in her swimsuit, sunhat and playing in her water table.  She just looked like a little sun goddess.  It was nice to finally get to be outside in the sun and not in the cold and rain.

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!  Hopefully this rain will stop in Iowa soon.  There are farms that look like lakes.  I'm off to get started at work, I have a lot to finish up before I'm gone from here for 2 months.

First Fishing Adventure of the Summer

Yesterday we went to Newton.  Rob has had the fishing itch since it got nice out and he promised Paige we would go fishing.  Well yesterday was about 50 degrees and raining all day.  I think I saw on the news this morning Newton got 5" of rain yesterday!!  When Paige woke up from her nap was about the only time it wasn't raining.  So we all decided we would head down and see if we could catch anything.  Rob and I had bought Paige some rain boots so she of course had to model them for me.

Mom and Paige fishing in style!

It may have been cold and we had to dress like it was winter, but we caught a decent amount of fish.  Here is Paige standing with Daddy after her first fish she caught that day.

Here is Mom and Dad enjoying a brisk day at the pond :)

So Paige basically fished with everyones pole.  She would just switch to whoever she thought was going to catch something.  When she used her own pole she would just drop the line right in front of the dock.  We all kept telling her we could cast it out for her but she said no I've got it under control.

I don't think anyone will doubt Paige and where she wants to drop her fishing line.  You'll see in this picture she caught a BIG fish.  She caught the biggest bass out of the pond yet.  She was so proud and Papa and Daddy were really impressed.  This bass was 13" and 3/4 lb.  Paigey talked about it all night!

I will leave you with a Paige quote.  So we were all sitting eating dinner last night and Rick was bugging Paige just like he always does.  Paige looked Gail straight in the face and said, "Your boyfriend is pretty annoying".  The four of us laughed so hard.  I think it might be one of the funniest things I've ever heard.  Have I told you all how much I love having a 3 year old.

On the baby front we have 9 days left before surgery day.  Rob and I are getting antsy!  We'll keep you all posted.

The Hartz's Are Gardening

So Rob and I decided we were going to garden this year.  The garden plot has been there since we moved in and it was just growing weeds.  So we went out got all of the supplies we needed and some plants and started the process.  Now I would like to say I totally helped with it.  But I helped for a little bit and honestly thought it would put me into labor.  Rob then told me to go sit down.

So here is Rob prepping the garden by himself.

Paige did help a little bit.  She pretty much only helped with the hose was involved.  She got pretty muddy but had fun.

So Daddy dug all the holes and put in the plants.  I helped but getting all of the plants out of their containers and also photographing the whole thing.

So where was Rob's gardening partner you ask?  Oh just blowing bubbles instead of helping Daddy.

But here's our final product.  Everything is planted.  Now lets hope that it all grows!

On a side note, we've had a lot of storms the last two nights.  Paige experienced her first time of having to go to the basement when the sirens go off.  Last night she was nervous about it, we just had to explain what was going on.  But tonight this is what she looked like.  Laying in her bean bag, blanket, snack and watching the news.  She's so funny and matter of fact about it.  Hope everyone stays safe during these storms!!  We'll keep everyone posted on baby stuff.  He's still in there, he's still active, and I'm trying to take it easy.  It's not going very well though.

Sesame Street Live AGAIN!

Well this past Saturday Graham and I took the girls to Sesame Street Live.  I believe they had so much fun!  I know Paige had way more fun this time compared to last year.  She has talked about it everyday since.  I got some really funny pictures, I hope you all enjoy them!!

This is Paige waiting for it to start

So I'm sure you can guess that everyone is on stage at this point.

All of our friends!

These next ones are the girls busting a move!  They had so much fun!!

37 Weeks!

Hey family and friends!!  I thought I would give an update on me and the baby since I haven't really done one of those in a while.  I'm 37 weeks tomorrow which means I have 18 days left as of tomorrow.  I will tell you I feel like the time is dragging, but when I look at a calendar and realize I have 2 weeks of work left then I panic and realize it's flying by.  I'm feeling great!  I mean I wouldn't say great all day everyday but for being 37 weeks pregnant and it deciding to be 90 degrees out, I'm doing good.  My little man in there is still moving around quite a bit.  Paige felt him have the hiccups the other night and she thought it was so funny!  Work has started to realize that I don't have much time left so we're constantly planning and prepping for me to leave.  I'm not ready to leave work.  I love the people I work with and I love what I do.  Our business moves so fast that when I come back in 2 months things will be so different and that makes me nervous.  But oh well I don't have a choice.

Rob and I are finalizing some stuff around the house.  We talk more and more about it with Paige.  Explaining that the baby will cry in the middle of the night.  That he wont eat anything but bottles.  Her and I sat and went through his diaper bag the other night.  She didn't know what a diaper bag was and wanted to know all about it.  We also went through all of the pictures on our computer of everyone visiting her at the hospital when she was born.  She thought that was so amazing, but thought I was lying when I told her that baby was her.  She said, "Mom that's not my hair" I had to explain that she had dark hair when she was born.  She's very ready for her brother to get here.  I tell her that she's preaching to the choir.  I still need to pack for the hospital and pack for Paige to go to her grandparents. I need to finish up gifts for her daycare teachers as next week is her last week in the 2 year old room and she officially moves into the 3 year old preschool room.  I also need to finish up her big sister gift.

Here is a picture of me today.  I went to the doctor today.  She told me that I should just keep doing what I'm doing.  My feet are only swelling at night since it's gotten warm out.  But my blood pressure is still great and the baby is very active.  I've had no signs of early labor, but that doesn't mean anything I'm aware.  I'm doing everything I can to keep him in until June 4th.  With all of the change and things going on in our lives right now I think I would really appreciate him coming on the day we've planned for.  It's been a long journey with a bunch of up and downs but I can't wait to meet this little man more then anything.

Here are some pictures of Paigey.  She had crazy week at daycare, so each day is something different.  She's been LOVING it.

Mismatch day is below.  This was the hardest for me.  I'm really into matching and things looking good.  But I let this little girl pick what she wanted and off she went.

Yesterday was crazy hair day.  This is what we did.  She loved that as well.  I guess she was telling people at daycare not to touch it haha.  Today was backward day and tomorrow is just PJ & movie day.  Rob has made me take tomorrow off to relax.  I'm excited for my date day with him.  It will be nice to just sit and relax for a moment.  Hope all is well with everyone.
