Family Pictures
Well we finally are updating our family pictures. The last professional family picture we have Rob was holding a 1 week old Henry. Oh how our life has changed. My friend Megan who I work with took these again. We went to downtown Des Moines and took pictures by the library. It was an adventure for sure. After we all parked our cars and got out the started blocking off roads. There was a heart walk downtown that walked right by us. So we played around a little longer then usual for pictures. There are also these awesome water features downtown that at the end of pictures we let the kids just run crazy in them. Megan got some amazing pictures of that as well. Enjoy our little family!

The End of One and the Beginning of Another
So about a week ago Paigey finished up swim lessons and started tumbling. Rob and I decided to take full advantage of the activities through Ankeny Parks & Rec. We've never done it and we are both very impressed with the activities. We're going to keep Paigey involved in many things. It also gets her out with a group of different kids. She's been with the same kids at daycare since they were 2 some of them since she was 1.
We all went to tumbling, Henry included to see how the first night went. It was so much fun to just watch Paige show them all of the things she already knew how to do.

She's already been for her second time. I didn't go that time Rob did. He said it was so funny to watch the kids. They did headstands and played with a big parachute.
A little before tumbling was over we left class and ran into the bathroom to get changed for swimming. We then rushed a couple miles to the pool. They were rushing through things this night and I was really confused. Around the 15 minute mark the whistles blew and I just kept thinking they have 15 more minutes. Well at that point they turned on all of the fun stuff at the pool. The slides all turned on, fountains, etc. Paigey had a BLAST. They were given 15 minutes to just run and do whatever they want to do. Paigey also found out that she passed level 1! Now we're onto level 2!
Paige went down a big slide with a lifeguard she has never met. I was so proud of her! She just walked right up to the girl and said will you go down the slide with me?
She had so much fun on this big slide by herself. I think she went down it 4 or 5 times.
I hope everyone enjoys the pictures!

Henry's 1 Year Appt
Well last week we went to the doctor for Henry's 12 month appt. This appointment was very entertaining. Henry was just talking to everyone and chatted our doctor's ear off. Dr Brink was just laughing so hard. He even smiled at the shot nurse after she gave him 3 shots. We found out how big he is. He came in at 31 1/2 inches. That means he basically grew an inch a month for the first year of his life. He's so tall!! Then he came in at 27 lbs 2 oz!! I knew he would weigh that much, how ever how tall he is kind of shocked me! He's such a big boy!!
I'm sure you are looking at the below picture and thinking are they potty training him? HA! No way! Henry pooped in the bath last night and this is how I found them after I heard Rob talking to Henry. I went in the bathroom and busted out laughing! Oh the things you have to do!
On a side note...Paige has her last two days of swim lessons tonight and tomorrow. Tomorrow she then starts tumbling every Thursday for 7 weeks! This was my view of her class last night while I was sitting on a chair enjoying the nice weather!

Henry's Party!!
Well today we celebrated Henry turning one with the friends and family that could make it. Apparently Henry was again so excited that he got up at 5:30 AM. So by the time people started showing up at my house I felt like it was the longest morning ever. Rob and I had our hands full keeping these two entertained as well as finishing up all of the food. We were pretty excited when Grandma showed up to our house. That just added another pair of hands.
In the morning we played in a tent in our basement. We haven't had this out since Paige was probably 2. Henry thought it was crazy!!
So this party was supposed to be a good old fashion summer cookout. The weather had a different plan for us. It decided to POUR through the entire party. So our cookout turned into just hanging out at our house, but it was still great! We grilled out burgers (Thank you Rob for grilling in the rain). After everyone was done eating it was cake time. Now most babies would be covered in frosting. Henry wants every ounce of every piece of junk food that he eats. So he wasn't that messy.

Then of course it was present time!! Henry could care less about this. But his older sister of course would love to help!! So Paigey helped me unwrap all of the presents.
Please notice how far away he is from presents being opened
My nephew Derek was laying on the floor so Henry decided to join him

So we decided to have another cupcake. Cupcake round #2 was a lot messier then cupcake #1. But he enjoyed it so much!!
Random tidbits of knowledge for everyone. June 7th was actually my due date for Henry. Also June 7th is the day we brought him home from the hospital. Rob and I were talking at dinner about how tired we were from hosting everyone. We were trying to figure out if we were more tired when we came home from the hospital a year ago or tonight from hosting his first birthday party. Either way he's one of the best things that has happened to us. Thank you to all of you who were able to come and celebrate with us. It was so nice to be surrounded by friends and family.
