Bike Ride and the Park

Rob and I finally invested in some bikes, we also got a Burley trailer for Paige to ride in off of Craig's List.  We LOVE it!  We took advantage of the amazing weather in Iowa this past week.  We rode our bikes to a local park that we would have normally not walked to.  Paige is showing us just how much she's grown over the winter.  She is able to climb most of the ladders by herself and goes down the slides alone.  She's not scared or anything just ready to go, go, go.

Potty training is still going amazing!  We got over another milestone and she is no longer wearing a pull up during nap time.  Rob and I still can't believe she's doing as good as she's doing.  She also amazed us this week and counted to 13.  Rob and I just stood there in shock and she just kept counting and counting.  Can't believe how smart she is and how big she's getting.  As you all know we're about to celebrate Rob's 30th birthday and Paige's 2nd birthday!!  So I'll have more updates to come!!!

Carly is 5!!

Well I can't believe it but our niece Carly is 5!  I remember the day she was born and talking my boss into letting me leave early so I could be at the hospital when she was born.  Well we had her birthday party at my Sister's in Le Claire.  Took us a little longer to get there then usual with our little girl using the potty now.  But boy was she excited when we got there.  We got there before Tony's family arrived so Paige was able to get some cousin time in.  We spent the afternoon with family and it was great!!  Here are a few of the pictures of our day.  Colin is getting so big!  So glad we got to spend the day with them.  Did a little bit of shopping at Williamsburg outlet mall on the way home.

Baby Nehemiah

Well a lot of you have heard of us talk about our amazing babysitter Kinah.  We met her at daycare when she used to help in Paige's baby room.  Then we were lucky enough that she was moved to head teacher of the room that Paige is in now.  Paige LOVES Kinah!  So as we have got to know Kinah we have been able to celebrate in a lot of huge milestones in her life.  We've been to her wedding and now we are celebrating the birth of her and her husband Adam's first baby Nehemiah!  He was born Wednesday night at 5 lbs 9 oz, so he's just a tiny little thing.  Last night we took Paige to the hospital to meet Baby Nehemiah.  I have never seen my daughter so excited.  She was so excited we thought she was going to cry at one point.  This is the first time Paige has been around this new of a baby and actually got to hold him.  We are already looking at the calendar on when we get to visit Kinah and Nehemiah again!  Enjoy the pictures!!

PS - The entire way home from the hospital Paige kept saying, "Baby Neamia CUTE!"

The nurse came in to check on him and Paige didn't want to give him back

She kept getting so close to his face....very interested!

Paige's Friends

Not only have we acquired more then one blanket, but about 8 different dolls and stuff animals.  When she gets up in the morning she comes in our room to watch cartoons while we get ready.  She brings all of her friends with her.  Normally she doesn't bring this many.  But this day was exceptional I guess because we had to bring her pillow, her pillow pet, 4 blankets, 3 cabbage patch kids (Reagan, Colin (Yep named a baby after her cousin Colin) and one un-named baby), and I don't know how many stuffed animals.  But all in all look at that smile on her face!  She just likes to have all of her friends with her while she watches cartoons.  Rob walked in her room the other day and found her with them all lined up in her bed talking to all of them.  Her imagination is so funny lately!!

Early Birthday Present from Grandma Greta!

So my mom was in the market for some duffel bags for her grandkids for their upcoming birthdays. So I asked her to also get Paige a backpack for whenever we started potty training. Not thinking we would do it this early. But Grandma let Paigey have one of her presents early, her new backpack, or pack pack as Paige calls it. She can take all of her potty essentials to daycare with her. You can't see but it has her name embroidered on there. Rob and I refer to it as her Potty Pack as one of my friends from work so cutely named it. Paige LOVES taking it with her and wearing it. She thought she was the coolest thing ever walking into daycare this morning. Thanks Grandma Greta!!

Potty Update!

Well last time I updated, we were in the middle of our potty training craziness! Well Wednesday afternoon the girls from daycare convinced me (and with a push from a certain friend :)) we sent Paige to daycare in undies on Thursday. I will tell you I have never been so nervous in my life. I never want my kid to be a burden on anyone so I was afraid the accidents were going to happen like crazy. Was this Mommy proud when I found out that she only had one accident and it was due to timing (didn't get there fast enough). Friday we sent her again in undies and I picked her up to find a report sheet that said Paige was ACCIDENT FREE!!! She did it!! Rob and I couldn't have been more proud and shocked to be honest with you. So Rob and I told ourselves we were going to have a very normal weekend. So Saturday we went to see Grandma Greta and then off to Grammie and Papa Hartz's to watch ISU win!!! Paige used the potty at everyones house and stayed dry all day again!! Sunday we did our normal trip to Costco and other errands around Des Moines. We had an experience with a really gross gas station bathroom that my daughter refused to use (which is fine because her mother wouldn't have used it either). She had another great day at daycare today too!!! We just got back from returning an unopen box of diapers to Target!!! That was a great feeling. We still have to work on overnight, but there are many mornings that she wakes up dry. We're just giving her some more time to get used to this whole process.

The pictures are of this amazing thing I found on Pinterest. It helps bring the water out further so Paige can wash her hands without us holding her up. She loves it as you can tell!!
