Snowing!

Well as most of you know as received a TON of snow a couple weeks ago.  I'm talking 14 inches in a day!!  The kids were at Rick and Gail's house and of course got snowed in.  We went and got them on Monday and Paige was so excited to get outside with her dad.  Rob and Paige have so much fun out in the snow.  I'm hoping Henry will be more on board next year so I can get out there too.

You can see how much we had on our deck

Henry didn't want to go outside...he also wanted me to pick him up and not be taking a photo

Watching Paigey

So over that weekend we were able to actually get Henry into his snow pants and outside.  I put on all of my stuff and ran out to take pictures of what Rob and Paige were doing instead of through the window.

The big pile the plow leaves us

Yep I made it outside 5 mins and this is what happened...Henry crying walking down the driveway for me to pick him up

Quick picture to prove I was out there

Sweet fort Rob and Paige built (Thanks Grandma Greta for the tools needed, they are awesome!)
Later that day our neighbors came over so Claire could play with the kids.  Henry again didn't want to put on his snow stuff, that is until he saw Claire go outside.  Then he NEEDED to be out there with her.  Aren't they adorable!

Justin and Paige building a snowman (Paige is a cheese for the camera, no idea where she gets that)

He finally went out in the snow!!!

The snowman!

Just hanging out having some yogurt.  My kids just love this little girl!

Science Center

So I was clearing pictures off my camera and I found these from when we went to the Science Center here in Des Moines and I didn't even share them.  We became members to the zoo and Science Center thanks to my Dad and Pat!  It was the kids xmas present and it is amazing!!  Please enjoy the photos from our adventure!!

Paige also went to a birthday party for her best friend Hudson.  They went bowling and had a lot of fun as you can tell.

The Happenings

Well I haven't blogged since Christmas so I thought I would do one.  We're just enjoying quiet weekends and not much going on in our lives.  Paige does wish that we would either get a TON of snow or that the weather would get nice.  Poor girl just wants to get outside.  But until then we've been doing anything we can around the house.  Enjoy the photos!!

Henry likes to sit and watch me sew

Gave Paige a treat of hot chocolate with whipped cream the other night.

Christmas with the Hartz's

The day after Christmas we spent time down in Newton at The Hartz Ranch.  The kids played and played and had so much fun.  Gail, Kristin and I even got to go uptown and do some shopping.  After naps Grandpa Virgil came out to hang out with us.  I love this picture of the boys all playing foosball.  We had cocktail hour, opened presents, and the adults got to eat dinner w/out the kids.  The kids have hit the amazing age where they all play together we don't have to be watching them to make sure they don't break something.  It was a great time to spend with family as we don't get to see Ryan, Kristin and the kids very often.  Paige even spent the night to get extra time with Sophie and Tyler.

Who loves getting the same presents....THESE GIRLS

I love Tyler playing legos with Ty.  So great!

Christmas at Home

Sorry for the late posting on Christmas.  Life hasn't slowed down yet until right now.  Etsy business has been good, holidays with our families were great, and then this past week I threw my back out.  Not sure what happened but today seems to be a better day.  I'm going to try and get some stuff done around the house but not over do it.

Christmas this year we spent at our own house.  All of our families were a bunch of different places so we got to enjoy the day at our house.  Henry had a pretty nasty cold so we were glad to keep him at home.  My mom did end up coming up and spending some time with us and helped me with a new sewing project.

Christmas Eve we made sure to get everything ready for Santa's arrival and telling Joe our elf see you next year.  We of course did most of this after Henry went to bed as he was so sleepy.

Picking out cookies is serious work

Everything is ready to go.

Paige wanted to write a letter to Santa
Christmas morning was very exciting this year.  Henry had finally got the hang of everything after having a few Christmases already.  He grabbed his presents and started opening right away.

Once everything was open it's Rob's turn to put it all together.

We spent the rest of the day pretty much in our basement.  We watched the new movies that Santa brought, we played duck hunt on nintendo and we did crafts.  It was a great day to just relax and enjoy my little family.
