Oh My She's 3!

Well last year I wrote a post all about 2 years ago.  I could easily do it again today but it would probably be more sappy with the pregnancy hormones and everything.  I don't really know where the time has gone.  She's actually 3.  I spent all week asking her if she could just stay 2 or even go back to 1.  She told me nope that she has to be 3.  So I suppose I'll let her be 3 (like I had any other option).

She's grown up so much in the last year.  She's so smart, funny, and beautiful.  All I can hope is her and I get just as much quality time once the baby gets here.  I'm currently sitting on the couch cuddling with her not wanting to move because I just don't want her to leave.  See I told you giant SAP!!

Today is also Easter, so Happy Easter everyone!!  The Easter bunny made a visit to our house this morning. I think it was a little overwhelming for Paigey, but of course the more presents the better.

Enjoy all of our pictures from the day so far!

Paige's Birthday Party

Well yesterday we celebrated Paige's birthday with family.  We had almost everyone to our house for lunch, presents and cake.  I couldn't believe it but all 8 of my nieces and nephews were all there and it was so amazing!!  Everyone played so well together and had a good time.

Our day started out with a little girl who was very very excited that her party was that day.  She came into our room and we let her open one present.  Pretty much only because most of her presents were linked to this one present.

We got her a Leapfrog Leappad.  It's basically a kids tough ipad.  It's this coolest little thing and she loves it!

After some cleaning and getting everyone ready it was time for people to start showing up.  But not before the cake arrived!!  A friend of mine from work told me that she would make Paige's birthday cake.  I found a picture on pinterest and I have no words for how amazing she did!!  It was delicious and looked amazing!!

Tried to get Paige to take a picture by her cake before everyone showed up.  She stood there scowling at me, so I took a picture.  This is what happened next.

Paigey had so much fun just running and running with her cousins.  This is one of the few times she stopped and it was to teach Colin how to play the coloring game on her new leappad.

So much fun to have all of them at the table.  Listening to them all talk and hang out.

Then it was time for presents!!  Paige had 8 cousins who really wanted to help her open every one of them.  Also you'll notice that my daughter sits in dresses much like her mother.

Chase apparently was tired already

Tyler had Paigey laughing so hard while opening presents
After singing Happy Birthday it was time for cake.  I'll tell you all the sugar in the frosting couldn't even keep these kids from being so pooped out!  We found Paige sitting in the baby's room with the door closed playing with the baby toys just because she was ready for everyone to leave.  She took a really good nap.

It was a great day!  We were thankful for everyone who could make it to our house and celebrate our little girl.

Birthday Weekend/Paige's Room Upgrade

First off this is my 100th post on my blog!!

So we celebrated Rob's birthday on Saturday.  Rick and Gail picked up Paigey in the morning.  She had told us that she wasn't going to stay at Grammie and Papa's and that she wanted us to come and pick her up.  Then when Rick and Gail got there she was sold on going to church on Palm Sunday and doing all of her duties while at church.

Rob and I instantly got to painting in Paige's room.  I know I know I've posted like 3 times about different things to Paige's room.  This one was because Rob and I realized that it was dumb to try and store a full size bed in our basement when the twin stored so much easier.  So new bed for Paigey it was!  So rob and I painted her purple wall the same color as the rest of her room.

After that took no time at all except for the basketball break that we took in the middle to watch Michigan win.  We put together her new bed and then we were off to celebrate Rob's birthday.

When Paigey got home on Sunday she ran right to her room and said, "I LOVE IT!!"  We're on the hunt for some curtains and something to put on the wall above her bed.  But I'm loving it!!  This is the last update we'll be doing for a while.

Someone enjoys all the space!

Here is Robby and I before we were off to Des Moines.  We started by doing a little shopping.  Then went over to see one of our good friend's new apartment.  Which then turned into an impromptu dinner with friends for Rob's birthday.  We went to a restaurant we've never been to before and it was delicious!  We had so much fun just laughing and telling stories.  It then turned into everyone coming over to our house and playing a dumb game on the wii.  I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Sunday Rob and I slept in till 8 which was amazing because this Mama actually slept which is rare anymore.  We then went out for breakfast just the two of us which is also rare.  I would call it a birthday success!!

My First Sewing Project

Yes, I am aware people are probably wondering how we celebrated Rob's birthday.  I'll do that update tomorrow, I'm waiting for the rest of my pictures.  So you'll get that update soon!!

Tonight I decided to bite the bullet and just attempt the sewing project I've planned on doing since I found out I was pregnant.  I wanted to make cute burp clothes.  So I washed the fabric and the cloth diapers.  Then I spent two days with a clothes shaver taking all of the pills off of the diapers because I tried to save time and washed them all together, lesson learned.  So tonight I was ready to start!

So I got out my machine, which hasn't been out since my friend Jenn's mom helped me.

I set up the computer with the blog I found on pinterest that was going to teach me how to make these.

Got out all of my sewing supplies.

Then I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.  Rob watched me and told me that I looked like I knew what I was doing.

This is when I was all set up and ready to go!  I ironed my hem, I pinned everything together.

Then my supervisor decided to come and watch what I was doing.

After a lot of concentration.  Some game planning on how I was going to do it different next time.  I DID IT!!!!  It's not pretty, but like I told my mom after I called her freaking out that I did it, "these are meant for a baby to puke on so who cares if they are perfect!"  I've learned prefolded cloth diapers are not easy to sew on do to the fact they move all around.  But I'm so proud of myself that I actually did a sewing project!!  Now I have 5 more to do!

On a side note, Rob told me on Valentine's Day that he was going to get my a Pandora charm bracelet.  He's known I've wanted one for many many years.  I was in total shock when he told me.  So we went to the Pandora store this weekend and picked it out!  I LOVE IT!  I have a P for Paige, an aqua bead for her birthstone, and a sparkly one that I just LOVED.  I told him way to go!!!

Well this Mom is going to go to bed.  I have been up till midnight the last 2 nights, Friday night for the ISU game and Saturday celebrating Rob's birthday with friends.  So I am pooped out.  I will give a birthday update as well as a project update on my kid's rooms (yep I just said kids, haha).

Sunday!

We had a great day today!  So much fun just hanging out around our house.  We also need a little shopping for upcoming birthdays and Easter baskets.  We have found we can no longer do that with Paige.

All Paige has talked about this winter is wanting a kite.  She just kept asking us, if she could have a kite.  So today when we were at the store we found a bunch of cheap kites.  When she woke up from her nap we decided today we had good wind to be able to go out and fly it.

Next we had some craft time!  We have heard one of two things NON STOP.  We either hear, "But I just miss my baby" or "When is my baby coming"  So I decided to make a good ol fashion paper ring with how many days we have left.  We have 79 to be exact (HOLY CRAP!!)  So Paige helped me cut all of the paper, and tape them all together.  Now every morning we will take a ring off the chain and she'll be able to see when her baby is coming.  Fingers crossed this helps!

We hope everyone had a great weekend, we sure did!  Excited for March Madness to start this week!!  I don't think Paige even understands how much basketball will be on TV.  Next weekend we celebrate Rob's birthday and then the following weekend we celebrate Paige's.  Then it's April and we're down to very few days until this baby joins our family!  Mom and Dad better get it together, hahaha.

Love you guys!!  I'm off to put a certain little girl to bed!

Carly's Birthday Party

Well Carly turned 6!  I say this stuff every time one of my nieces or nephews has a birthday, I can't believe Carly is 6!  I left work early the day she was born because I was just not getting anything accomplished waiting for updates on Heather's labor.  But if you look at the first picture, that's my nieces on my side of the family.  Dylann (Chantelle's oldest) on the left, can we talk about how I can't believe she turned 10!!!  I will forever remember sitting with Dad and Heather waiting for her to be born!

We had a great day in LeClaire!  It was nice for Paige to get to play with almost all of her cousins.  She had a blast!!  She didn't even make it to the interstate before she fell asleep in the car.  Now we prepare for birthdays at our house...where as March gone?  Wasn't it 80 degrees last year at this time?  I'm not complaining the least amount of 80 degree days while I'm pregnant the better!

Left to Right: Dylann (Chantelle's oldest), Paige, Elise (Heather's middle), and Carly (Heather's oldest)

Carly excited about her CD from Grandma Greta

This little man kills me!!  He was hamming it up for the camera hardcore

They just love each other!

Nice Weather

So we got some really nice weather this past week.  Paige was so excited to get outside and of course play basketball with her Daddy.  We weren't out very long as it started to cool off quickly.  We saw our neighbors for the first time since everyone went in for the winter.  She was excited to see my growing belly and find out what we were having.  Hopefully you'll start seeing more and more pictures of us outside, fingers crossed for continued nicer weather!!
