Henry's Party!!

Well today we celebrated Henry turning one with the friends and family that could make it.  Apparently Henry was again so excited that he got up at 5:30 AM.  So by the time people started showing up at my house I felt like it was the longest morning ever.  Rob and I had our hands full keeping these two entertained as well as finishing up all of the food.  We were pretty excited when Grandma showed up to our house.  That just added another pair of hands.

In the morning we played in a tent in our basement.  We haven't had this out since Paige was probably 2.  Henry thought it was crazy!!

So this party was supposed to be a good old fashion summer cookout.  The weather had a different plan for us.  It decided to POUR through the entire party.  So our cookout turned into just hanging out at our house, but it was still great!  We grilled out burgers (Thank you Rob for grilling in the rain).  After everyone was done eating it was cake time.  Now most babies would be covered in frosting.  Henry wants every ounce of every piece of junk food that he eats.  So he wasn't that messy.

Then of course it was present time!!  Henry could care less about this.  But his older sister of course would love to help!!  So Paigey helped me unwrap all of the presents.

Please notice how far away he is from presents being opened

My nephew Derek was laying on the floor so Henry decided to join him

So we decided to have another cupcake.  Cupcake round #2 was a lot messier then cupcake #1.  But he enjoyed it so much!!

Random tidbits of knowledge for everyone.  June 7th was actually my due date for Henry.  Also June 7th is the day we brought him home from the hospital.  Rob and I were talking at dinner about how tired we were from hosting everyone.  We were trying to figure out if we were more tired when we came home from the hospital a year ago or tonight from hosting his first birthday party.  Either way he's one of the best things that has happened to us.  Thank you to all of you who were able to come and celebrate with us.  It was so nice to be surrounded by friends and family.

My Henry is ONE!!!

Oh geez where has a year gone!! A year ago I would have been in recovery in my room with my family.  My little man would have joined our family about an hour ago.  SO CRAZY!!  Now he's not so little and entertaining us everyday.  He's becoming very independent and has NO problem letting people know if they are in his way or bugging him.  His sister has learned that when he screams to just get out of the way.  I'm going to try and not make this super sappy.  We are just so blessed to have this dude in our life.

He woke up this morning at 5:45, apparently he wanted to let us all know it was his birthday.  I went in there and he was so excited to see me.  He gave me a big giant hug.  His sister then heard him in our room talking to me so she got up.  She told me she was afraid she was going to miss him opening his presents.  So we brought all of Henry's presents into Rob and I's room.  It's our family tradition to let the kids open presents on our bed.  Henry loved all of his presents.  He especially loved the big dump truck.  I can't wait to get to play with him some more tonight.  His doctor appt is tomorrow so we'll find out his official stats.  Also his party is Saturday so I'm sure I'll have a TON of pictures from that!  Thanks to those of you who have texted me this morning!  I will let him know though I'm sure he'll look at me like I'm crazy!!

Swim Lessons!

Paigey started swim lessons tonight!  This was our first time doing swim lessons through our parks and rec department instead of the YMCA.  I love these swim lessons.  There are a lot more kids in the class but there are also 3 teachers.  They play games while testing their skills tonight.  It was so much fun to watch!

Our Weekend!

I'm just going to warn people I'm feeling sappy tonight.  It could be the great weekend we had...it could be the fact my baby is about to turn 1 on Wednesday.  But I'm sitting here feeling so blessed for my life, my family, and my friends.  We had a very busy weekend but a fun one.  I went to a baby shower for a co-worker who has become an amazing friend.  We are a lot alike and it cracks me up.  It was fun to go and watch the excitement on her face as she prepares for her first baby and surrounds herself with her loved ones.  After the shower Rob, Paige, Henry and myself all packed up and headed to Newton.  Paige, Gail, my mom and I all had a date at a princess tea party!!  A new tea room opened in Newton and had a princess tea party with Belle & Snow White.  The tea party was fun to just watch Paige.  The food was not geared towards kids, but it's ok.  Enjoy all of the pictures!!  You'll see Paigey with Laek Graham's daughter.  They were there too!!

Laek didn't want to smile :)

This girl drank so much "tea"

Paige is still talking about it.  It was so much fun!  Graham and I decided we need to be these princesses.  They were saying the funniest stuff and most sarcastic stuff but in sweet princess voices.  I loved it!

Today we just took a day at home.  We did all of our usual stuff in the morning and then it was time to just relax!  We put up the pool in the backyard and invited the neighbors over!  Henry thought the pool was the coolest thing ever.  Rob and I were laughing so hard!  It's just been a great weekend!  Enjoy the rest of the pictures!  I'm sure there will be a lot of blogs this week.  Paige starts swim lessons, Henry turns 1, and we have Henry's party this weekend!!!  Summer is here people!

Claire's first time in the pool!!

How many beers can we put on the stroller?
