Typical Night At Our House

When you get to our house around 6 PM.  Usually that is when we're all walking in the door.  That means Daddy has grabbed the kids from daycare, and Mommy probably worked late and is running in the door at the same time.  I then usually start dinner and this is how you can usually find Rob.

Yep he's bouncing Henry with his feet and Paige is using him as a chair.  This usually works amazing.  Then Henry will go for his night time routine of taking a nap in the bathroom with the fan on.  We have no idea why this works but we do it every night and because it works Rob, Paige and I get to have dinner together with no screaming baby.  Now you've been let into the world of the Hartz family.  Please ignore the mess I'm in a MAJOR declutter mode at my house.  It's paying off as I've been selling stuff like crazy!!

While Daddy's Away...

Well Daddy was off this weekend at another boys golf weekend (who agreed to all of these again :)) The kids and I went to my mom's new place for the weekend.  It was so much fun to spend the day with my mom.  Graham and her kids came over and played for a while too.  We had a great weekend!!  Daddy had fun in Omaha as well.

 Well my mom's AC broke while we were there.  So my kids hung out in their underwear most of the day.

I took this picture because I thought it was so funny.  I put him in the pack n play the right way but when I got up to go the bathroom this is how I found him.

We finished our night out with me cutting both of my kid's hair.  Henry has now had 3 or 4 haircuts in the almost 12 weeks he's been here!  So crazy!!  I hope everyone is having an amazing weekend!  Back to our crazy life at work!

Little Photo Update

Thought you guys would appreciate a small photo update from our house.

This is a 2 month difference of my kids.  As you can see we have growers in our house.  Man what a difference 2 months makes!!

Last night we tested something out.  We put Henry to bed not in his swaddle blanket!  I would say he did pretty well.  He made it to his usual time to eat in the middle of the night.  He had a bit of trouble getting to sleep after his middle of the night bottle and ended up being swaddled.  But I think we're moving in the right direction!  He's getting to be such a big boy!

My kids are both loving daycare right now.  Paige's room is the 3 year old preschool room.  What a difference.  She gets to go on field trips and is learning so many things.  Wednesday they went to a splash pad/sprinkler park and today they are at another park with sack lunches.  Next week she has a camping week.  She gets to bring her sleeping bag and everything.  She's so excited!!  Henry loves his teacher.  She is also who took care of Paigey when she was in that room.  Lynn is like a member of our family since we trust our babies to her.  Henry is all smiles to Lynn when I hand him off in the morning.  It makes drop off a lot easier for this mom when both of my kids are excited to be there!

I'm in the middle of de-cluttering my house.  We have so many totes of kids clothes I'm selling it to any friend or family member that wants it.  Hopefully then we don't have to have a garage sale.  I'm doing pretty good so far.  So if anyone is interested get a hold of me!

My Baby is a Model!!

So most of you know I work for a design company and photography studio.  I coordinate the photography studio everyday.  But while I was on vacation I was asked to bring in Henry to model.  We were doing some shooting for a client that needed babies.  Unfortunately Henry wasn't chosen but it was so much fun having him photographed!!  I took a bunch of pictures of the process and I thought you guys would like to see them.  I mean I don't know how he wasn't chosen he's so cute in my eyes!!  The funny thing is they asked for him to be the newborn, now with his age he was a newborn when these were shot.  But due to his size and hair he looked NOTHING like a newborn.  There was another baby there who was 5 months and they looked the same.  I laughed really hard.

My co-worker who took the photos also takes pictures at a Des Moines area hospital of all the newborns.  So once we got Henry really asleep she had some fun.  Enjoy these pictures!!

Henry's 2 Month Check Up

Well we went to the doctor today for this little man's 2 month well baby check.  I shouldn't call him little!!  He came weighing in at 15 lbs 15 oz and 25 inches!!  He's grown 5 inches in 2 months!  No wonder his clothes aren't fitting him!  Our doctor said he's on the same growth chart basically as Paige.  I know he's grown faster in heigh then Paige did.  He got shots today which is always a sad time for me.  Thank goodness Rob comes with me.  He talks to them and holds onto them and then I get to calm them down after.  The nurses are always thankful I bring Dad as most moms aren't strong enough to hold the kids down.  I told them he comes because I'm scared of needles.

Henry is doing great things!!  He's tracking everyone around the room.  He smiles at everyone and is awake a ton during the day now.  He's starting to watch toys which is great because we can keep him busy now without having to be in his face.  Though I'm sure his sister would love to just be in his face most of the time.  When the doctor picked him up today he was already trying to bear weight on his legs, and was reaching out for things at our appointment.  Our doctor was like he looks like a 4 month old but is doing things sooner then most as well.  So that made me happy!  I can't believe at our next appointment we're already talking baby food!!  I'm going to have to get all of my baby food making supplies ready!  Our neighbor started giving me stuff from her garden knowing that I make baby food.  So I got an entire gallon zip lock bag full last night!  Going to get those ready to freeze.  This  little boy is going to be spoiled with amazing stuff from gardens.

Paigey is doing amazing!!  I still can't believe how big she is.  She has started picking up phrases and words I'm not so excited about and neither is her Dad.  Usually he's the one who gets them yelled at him.  I believe in one night Rob was told to mind his own business and called an idiot.  Needless to say she was in a lot of trouble.  Once I explained to her that idiot meant stupid then she started bawling, she knows that is not a nice thing to say.  So we're working on that in our house.  Note to anyone who comes to visit Paige is on constant repeat haha.

Rob is busy at work as usual and I'm getting more and more adjusted to being back.  I get overwhelmed a little and I get overwhelmed when I come home trying to get everything prepped for the next day.  But we'll settle into a routine.  I have to tell myself it's only been 9 weeks and we'll get there.

Grandma Came to Visit!!

Well Rob is on his first of two guys golf weekends this month.  So my mom came up to stay with the kids and I.  We have had a good time!!  Yesterday was a busy day.  Paige was so excited to take Grandma to the zoo.  Grandma hasn't been there since Heather and I were little.  So we went to Blank Park Zoo and had a blast!!  Mom was laughing at how fast Paige goes through the zoo.  She would stop look at an animal and then say ok lets keep moving.  Mom and I were laughing so hard.  They opened a new area in the zoo that is African animals including new rhinos.  Paige was excited!

After the African are we were off to see the monkeys and seals.  Paige had so much fun watching the seals swim on their backs.  She stood at that window the longest.  She laughed and laughed.

 So while I was finishing up feeding Henry, Paige and Grandma went to Critter Corner.  Paige came running back to me and said, "Mom I pet a snack and and rat!"  I looked at my mom like are you kidding??  So we went back because I had to see this.  Enjoy the picture!

This little boy had an amazing weekend of sleep!  He's doing better and better at night and is starting to be awake and happy more during the day.  Today for the first time he was awake the entire time between bottles.  He also took a nap in his room.  We're working our way into a real sleep routine!

On an exciting note about myself.  I have been back to work for 3 days and I'm loving every minute of it.  I missed my co-workers quite a bit.  I can also finally announce something that I was waiting for it to be official.  I was promoted at work!  I have gone from the Office Assistant to a Studio Coordinator.  What that means is we have a photo studio at work.  We do photography for many different things including grocery store ads, sports teams, etc.  I now coordinate all of the photographers, food stylists, shoppers, etc.  I'm so excited about it.  I was doing it before I went on maternity leave but we were waiting to make it official when I got back.  I got a new desk at work so my mom and I have been working on making it pretty.  It will be fun to go to work on Monday.  Henry is doing amazing at daycare as well.  The lady who takes care of him is the same one who took care of Paige.  She says he's amazing (which we already knew that).  He's eating well and sleeping great!!  We go to the doctor on Tuesday for his 2 month appointment.  So we'll find out how big he is and of course get shots.  

Hope everyone is doing well.  As you can tell we're getting back to business as usual at our house.  This week will be my first full week at work, so I'm sure by Friday I'm going to be exhausted.  Love you all!

Craft Day!

Today I had craft day with Graham!!  It was so much fun to spend the entire day with her!  She helped me knock out every project I was planning on doing this entire maternity leave in one day.  We printed pictures for all of my frames above our desk.  She also helped me do all of the pictures for my project for Paige's wall.  Here is a picture of the projects.  I'm not done with Paige's yet, but I'm hoping to get it done tomorrow and on the wall.  So I'll send you another update!
